Frequently Asked Questions

  

What kind of cribs do you rent?

There are a few different makes in our fleet of full size standard cribs that require assembly.  The Evenflo brand Jenny Lind style crib is one example.  They are accompanied by a full size spring coil mattress (not a foam mattress).  These cribs and mattresses replicate what the child has at home and is helpful for sleeping through the night in an unfamiliar environment.

 

There are also the full size foldable cribs that are standard in the rental industry and do have a foam mattress.  These are desirable for the purpose of moving to different rooms and they do not require assembly. 

 

Do you deliver?

Yes, you have the option of picking up your items from our location at 115 Route 6A in Orleans or for a fee of $30 we will deliver and pick up your items in the towns of Orleans, Brewster, Chatham and South Eastham.  This includes assembly of one crib.  Additional towns may be accommodated for an additional fee depending on our schedule.  We find these fees necessary so that we are able to hire a reliable and competent person to assemble your crib.

 

Can the full size standard crib be moved to a different room?

The full size cribs that require assembly can not fit through a doorway unless it is disassembled.  Once our delivery person has installed the crib they can not return to move it to another room due to our schedule.

 

How do we determine what room we want the crib set up in?

You will need to go through the process of elimination, such as what bedroom you do not want the crib in. For example, you may not want it in the master bedroom but the larger of the bedrooms with twin beds.  Obviously you will need to know the layout of the rental unit.  We can walk you through this process or a phone call to the owner or rental agent might be helpful to determine the appropriate bedroom.

 

How does Kid & Kaboodle access the rental unit?

We have relationships with all the realtors that have recommended our service and can acquire a key from them.  In the case of a private rental we can try to make arrangements with the owner or cleaning people to get into the rental.

 

What if we are renting through Great Vacations in Brewster?

What time will our items arrive at the rental unit?

We guarantee delivery by 8:00 PM on the day of your arrival although most likely everything will arrive before then.  The reason we need to acquire a key is because a good part of our deliveries arrive before you do! 

 

Can we request a certain time of day to deliver our rental items?

Typically deliveries and pick-ups are on Saturday since this is the “turn-over” day for most rental units.  Due to this volume on one day it is impossible to accommodate specific times for our customers.

 

What about pick up times?

Pick-ups begin at 8:00AM the day of your departure, if we haven’t made specific arrangements for a pick up time then leave items in the same place the delivery person left them for you.  Please leave items in condition that you received them in.  A $25.00 cleaning charge will be assessed on your credit card if items are not clean upon pick up.  High chairs should have a clean tray, seat and also be clean under the vinyl pad.

 

What if a rental item is lost or damaged?

Call the shop immediately at 508-240-0460 and we will replace the damaged item.   If the damage is due to mishandling on the part of the renter a replacement fee will be assessed.

 

Is there a deposit required?

Yes, from May 20 through Labor Day we require a deposit of half the cost of the total rental fee when you make the reservation.  The balance of the rental and delivery fee is put through on the day of arrival.  You may do this by MasterCard, Visa, check, or by stopping by our clothing shop.

 

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

From May 25 through September 30, if you cancel prior to your arrival you only loose your deposit of half the cost of the rental items.  Once your rental items leave Kid & Kaboodle for delivery or pick up there is no refund of the deposit or balance due. 

 

Is there a cleaning fee for rental items?

A $25.00 cleaning charge will be assessed on your credit card if items are not clean upon return.  High chairs should have a clean tray, seat and be clean under vinyl pad on seat.
